Core Agents

Overview

Core Agents are private agents focused on system-level monitoring. They run on your infrastructure and automatically collect essential host metrics — giving you real-time visibility into your servers' health without any sensor configuration.

What Core Agents Monitor

Core Agents collect the following system metrics from the host they run on:

  • CPU usage — Processor utilization over time.
  • Memory consumption — RAM usage and availability.
  • Disk space — Storage capacity and usage per volume.
  • Uptime — How long the host has been running since last reboot.
  • Load average — System load indicators (1, 5, and 15 minutes).

Default Sensors

When a Core Agent connects to Onagre for the first time, two sensors are automatically created:

  • Heartbeat — Confirms the agent is alive and communicating with the platform.
  • Server — Collects and reports system metrics (CPU, memory, disk, uptime, load average).

No manual sensor configuration is required — monitoring starts immediately after deployment.

Limitations

Core Agents are limited to system-level metrics. They do not support application-level sensors such as HTTP checks, database queries, certificate monitoring, or network probes.
